Bronson Potter was an inventor. He invented such things as the parts of the Polaroid Land camera and you can thank him for the warning beep when you don't put on your seat belt. This property is on the center, western part of town. This trail system consists of the following trails:
-
The main trail or Prospect Hill Trail which runs from a field off Old Ashby Road all the way to Merriam Hill Road.
-
Upper Loop Trail - named simply because it makes a small loop at the upper end of the Prospect Hill Trail near the end of that trail. This trail runs all the way from the Prospect Hill Trail to Merriam Hill.
-
Golden ELK Trail - named after the daughters of a person who originally cut this trail. Emily, Lauren and Kate, the daughters, all had golden hair and all loved to ride their horses on this trail when growing up.
-
Broken Arrow Trail - named because we found several broken arrows when cutting this trail
-
Turkey Tail Trail - named because we found a lot of mushrooms that looked like turkey tails when we were cutting this trail.
PARKING - If the field across from the Prospect Hill Cemetery is mowed and open, there is plenty of parking in the field and one can access the Prospect Hill Trail there. Parking is also available when there is NOT a funeral behind the Prospect Hill Cemetery.
