Mason NH Trails

The Mason Trail Volunteers are a group of people in the town of Mason who volunteer their time to design, build and maintain trails in and around the town of Mason NH. Join us in exploring the natural beauty of the trails and contribute to preserving the environment for future generations.

OUR MISSION

The Mason Trail Volunteers are dedicated to creating and maintaining a network of trails that connect the community with the great outdoors. Our team is committed to providing access to nature and promoting environmental stewardship through trail building and maintenance. We strive to make the trails accessible to all, fostering a love for outdoor activities and a sense of community. Currently only the Mason Rail Road Trail should be considered handicap accessible.

THE TRAIL BUILDERS and DESIGNERS

The Mason Trail Volunteers meet every Thursday unless it is too cold, too hot, or raining, most months of the year.  Some weeks there are 2 of us. Some weeks there are 10 of us. We first locate a possible trail.  We then flag the trail.  We then start clearing the trail with loppers, hand saws and brute force.  We then go thru with a chain saw if needed.  Next up we put up 4x4 inch blazes on trees to help navigate.  Finally we make trail signs and put those up.

Every year in the spring we do routine maintenance on every trail in town. We clear debris, cut deadfalls, clear branches, move rocks and fix washouts.
